K.G. Babu (b.1970) is a self-taught artist based in Kerala, India. Through his paintings, Babu captures the raw beauty of the forest that was once his home. Born into a tribal community, he began by painting nature and the lives of those who live in harmony with it. His artwork speaks to the inextricable bond between man and nature, while also addressing the material desires and selfish tendencies of humanity. In addition to working with oil and acrylic on canvas, Babu also creates wall murals, expanding his artistic expression across different mediums.

 

He has exhibited in Väsby Art Gallery, Sweden,(2021); Boxheart Gallery, Pittsburgh, USA(2015), Busan International Artshow, South Korea (2014), The 55th National Exhibition(2014) New Delhi and more.
