Sangeeta Kodimyala (b. 1978) lives and works between Vizag, Bangalore, and Hyderabad. Her work explores themes of cultivation, settlement, and the evolving relationship between humans and the natural world. Through her drawings, she examines the impact of human activity on geography, transforming landscapes into metaphors of struggle. She works with natural Earth pigments, coffee, ash, and charcoal, creating textured compositions that evolve from chance into complex forms.

 

She completed BFA from Andhra University (2021) and MFA at the University of Hyderabad (2023) in 2023.

 

She has won various awards like Award of sponsorship at the All India Art Competition and Exhibition 2023, Shri. Bari Sadhu Bhambhani Award for best painting, Amrita Sher-Gil National Merit Award for Creative Painting at 13" Annual Indian Royal Academy Award for the year 2019. She has also participated in various exhibitions which include All India Art Competition and Exhibition 2023, National Art Camp Exhibition organised by Camlin Art Foundation at Jahangir Art Gallery, 128th Annual Exhibition of Bombay art society, Jahangir art gallery, Mumbai, 2020.
